Michael Ranta

Michael RantaDoktorat z historii sztuki uzyskał na Uniwersytecie Sztokholmskim w 2000 roku. W latach 2010–2014 pracował w Centrum Semiotyki Kognitywnej (Centre for Cognitive Semiotics) na Uniwersytecie w Lund. Jego zainteresowania badawcze i publikacje dotyczą psychologii kognitywnej, historii sztuki, estetyki, narratologii i krytyki sztuki. Zaangażowany jest w interdyscyplinarny projekt badawczy pt. „The Making of Them and Us. Cultural Encounters Conveyed Through Pictorial Narrative”, realizowany na Uniwersytecie w Lund.

Obecnie rozwija projekt, który roboczo można nazwać „Reprezentacja działania i czasu w sztukach wizualnych”. Zasadniczy problem badawczy projektu to możliwości reprezentacji różnych form działania, narracji i innych struktur czasowych w sztukach, których podstawowym medium jest obraz.
